When you're feeling great, you are great!

There are various definitions of 'fit and healthy', but one of the most reliable is 'a positive feeling of wellbeing'. This is when you feel an energy bursting out from you, mentally and physically. We often see it in children and newborn lambs - they can't resist running and jumping about. When we get older, it's easy to lose that magic feeling. This is where exercise becomes so important. It isn't just to do with building strength and stamina. Getting the system working to full capacity, 'blowing out the tubes', oxygenates the blood, strengthens the heart as well as the other muscles, and stimulates the brain. The body and the mind remain harmonised long after the physical exercise is over. And this produces so many 'invisible' benefits.

Feeling good makes you more confident and positive, not only in yourself but in your relationship with the environment and the people around you. It makes you smile, and that's infectious! You tend to make better, more optimistic decisions when you feel good, too - and difficult matters, obstacles, are more easily overcome. It's likely you'll embrace more challenges as well, because your positive attitude will be looking for the satisfaction of further achievement, setting yourself higher goals. This feeds on itself, and is the key to personal growth, making you feel increasingly in charge of your destiny.
